What is our Recruitment Process?
Moving to Asia is a big step for all parties involved so we take extra care to ensure that we manage expectations for all along the way. Our interview process is multi staged and challenging, designed to ensure that we are recruiting only the best candidates.
We take a team approach to the interview process, so you will be typically be subject to at least three "assessments", normally with different members of the Montpelier Team. This is to ensure that we get an unbiased view of you from the Montpelier Team with all providing detailed assessments and, conversely, so you get to meet as many of the Montpelier Team as possible.
We believe that there is no such thing as an Ideal candidate and we are often asked "What types of candidates are you looking for?" This is almost impossible to quantify as everyone has different skills and attributes. Being able to match to certain required skills in the job specification is a good start but it's what you offer above and beyond that really counts.
Stage One - Initial Selection
Upon receipt of your CV we will evaluate your skills, experience, qualifications against the benchmark for the position you have applied for. If you qualify we will proceed to Stage 2, if not you may be suitable for another position, which we will contact you with further information. Candidates who are not suitable for any vacant position will be notified in writing.
Stage Two - Telephone Interview
We will arrange a convenient time and date for us to contact you by telephone for an initial evaluation. This is to see if your background and skills are potentially what we are looking for. Additionally it also gives you an opportunity to understand more about the position and to ascertain if this is that you are after. Candidates will be contacted after the telephone interview and advised if we wish to progress to a formal interview.
Stage Three - Initial Face to Face Interview
The successful candidates will be invited to attend an interview on the first week of the next available Recruitment Roadshow. The interview process is designed not only to validate your skills and experience but to also to build a bigger "picture" of you overall, including your goals and aspiration for the future and to see how that can fit in with Montpelier Asia Pacific. Additionally it gives you the opportunity to ask questions about the role and to find more out about working with Montpelier Asia Pacific.
Stage Four - Second Face to Face Interview
For those candidates who we wish to process further with will be invited back for a second interview for the second week of the Roadshow. This second interview will typically be with another member of the Montpelier Team.
Stage Five - Final Selection
In certain instances we may organise for another telephone interview, this is normally used to test certain skills such as telephone manner or product/market knowledge.
Stage Six - Offers
Successful applicants will be sent an offer letter with details of overall package, location, arrangement etc. Upon receipt of the signed offer letter a full induction pack and contract will be issued.
Stage Seven - Academy Placement
We will then make arrangement for you to come out and join Montpelier in Asia on the next available Academy course. This course will take place over one week and, following the successful completion of this, candidates will then move onto their office of placement in Asia. For more information on the Academy
